Middle school and high school flute students in Birmingham, AL - I have recently posted a blog concerning the All-State etudes for the 2019 cycle! You can find it here and it includes videos with tips on how to practice and prepare for the audition. I hope you find them helpful; I enjoyed making them. Friends, I have made some exciting new changes to my website! It starts with a new look and includes new features. I have also started writing my blog again! Let me know what you think and if there is anything I could add to help you in keeping in touch with me or to assist in your growth as a musician.

I have completed my studies at the University of Birmingham and now have my Masters in Music Education (K-12 Instrumental). I enjoyed my experience as a student at UAB and feel that I have grown so much as a teacher from the opportunities to play and teach through the School of Music.

CFS has officially moved to Hoover/Birmingham, Alabama! Summer is over and it is time to get back in tip-top flute shape! Band auditions or chair placements are around the corner and if you want help preparing for the audition and want to improve your flute skills, fill out my contact sheet under the "Contact Me" tab above. I have a few other ideas I am cooking up so check back in soon!

These last few weeks I have been busy coaching the woodwinds in the Missouri Conservatory Hot Summer Nights camp as well as playing a handful of concerts, second flute/piccolo, with the Missouri Symphony. I also played my last concert with the Columbia Community Band - they have been my family and friends for the past three years. It has all been very exciting and fun! However, this up coming week will prove to be even more eventful as I pack up my family and my studio and move to Hoover, Alabama! It has been a pleasure to serve the Columbia community. Thank you for the experiences, support, and memories!

Starting in September, I have been serving as the woodwind coach for the Missouri Conservatory. Beginning this Monday, I will be coaching a woodwind quintet made of the Young Artist Philharmonic principals! I am looking forward to working with these talented musicians and hope to have them ready to perform on each concert.

Very Excited to announce that I will playing 2nd Flute in the Columbia Civic Orchestra this year! It is going to be so fun playing with Ryan Wall (Principal Flute for CCO) again. I will post the concert dates here, but you can also find all the concert information on the CCO website.

The Columbia Community Band will be performing a great concert with another featured soloist, a trumpet player this time! Down beat is at 7:00pm at Hickman High School Auditorium. I hope to see you there!

I will be co-teaching an extended techniques session at a Flute Fest in Columbia, MO. Click here for the details! It will be a fun day filled with great instruction sessions and performances by local flutists. There is a registration form and fee. If you cannot find them on the Facebook event page, contact me and I will get them to you! This event will be beneficial to flutists of all ages and levels. :)
